The Newton Parent Advisory Council for Special Education (NewtonPAC) will have our first open PAC board meeting for this school year with Dr. Judy Levin-Charns, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services.
Thursday, November 13 from 9-10 am. in room 204 of the Education Center at 100 Walnut St., Newtonville
The agenda for the meeting is:
1) The introduction of new staff, with Amy Geer, Assistant Principal for Student Services at Oak Hill Middle School, Victoria Vendola, Assistant Principal for Student Services at Day Middle School, Kate McCarthy, Head of the Special Education department at Newton North High School. Each of them will give an introduction of their backgrounds, and will discuss the social and emotional programming at their schools.
2) Alison Mountford, Coordinator for Therapeutic Services and Psychologists for the district, will discuss her background and district wide mental health programming such as the SOS suicide prevention programming at North and South.
The meeting is open to everyone, and will take place on November 13 from 9-10 am., and will be held in room 204 of the Education Center. My apologies to everyone who can’t make it during the daytime hours; in the spring we will hold an open PAC board meeting with Dr. Levin-Charns in the evening.
